There's a lot to see and do in our little corner of the West. Walk in the footsteps of Geronimo, Pancho Villa, Johnny Ringo, and the Arizona Rangers. Visit Fort Bowie or Fort Huachuca, home of the famous Buffalo Soldiers. Explore the historic John Slaughter Ranch. Talk to the cowboys in Tombstone or stroll the twisting art-filled streets of Bisbee. Go hiking or birdwatching in the nearby Chiricahua Mountains and stop by Portal or Rodeo, New Mexico. If you're interested in aviation history, drop by the first international airport in the United States, dedicated by Eleanor Roosevelt and Amelia Earhart. Shop for curios or visit a farmacia in Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. Or, just check out the duty-free store 14 blocks south of The Avenue. Also Tucson's attractions are just a short drive away, through the hauntingly beautiful Sonoran Desert.
Plan your day's adventure while you fill your belly in Mabel Magee's Old West dining room. We serve up a hearty full breakfast to get your day off to a great start. Don't forget to try our local coffee... it tastes like it just came off the campfire! At the end of the day, you can belly up to the historic bar, put your foot on that brass rail, push your hat back, and have an ice cold beer or a shot of whiskey. Spurs are optional, but photographs are a must! Before you change out of your fancy duds, sit in the barbershop chair for a few more snapshots surrounded by all the accouterments of a 19th century barber and dentist. After that, wash off the trail dust, or just take another picture, in the public bathhouse on The Avenue's first floor. Just don't be surprised if our ghost, Mabel, shows up in one of those photos!
While you are out exploring and having fun, we will keep the home fires burning. After you tuck into the grub, you can tuck yourself in for a good night's sleep in one of our comfy beds, all made up with luxurious sheets and snuggly quilts. Welcome back! We missed you. Hospitality, comfort and a great time are the order of the day, every day, at The Avenue.
So come see us some time! We're sure you'll love it as much as we do!
